Blogs In My Future Classroom

  • My future career goal is to become an Art teacher. Throughout my whole life art has taken up a huge part of my heart. I love everything about it and I believe that art can solve anything. One major reason why I want to become an art teacher is because I want my students to be able to express what they are feeling through their works of art. It’s a great way to get your feelings, emotions, stress, and what you care about out so the whole world can see. Students keep so much built up inside them that they should be able to have a way of letting it all out. There are so many ways that art can express and I want to teach that to elementary school kids.

  • Blogging would be a great tool for my students in the art room and at home. My students would be able to post their art work on their web page and also write a paragraph or so on what their art piece means to them. Or maybe what they were feeling at the time they started their project. This allows their classmates and teacher to really get to know one another and also respond to them. They would be allowed to put their art work from school and home on their page. Write what they want about their work. Also they would write ideas on what an interesting project might be. Things they want to learn more about in class. The might also put poems or their own writing up and people could respond to those as well. As a teacher my assignment for blogging would be to have each student post a piece of their work or idea on their website each week. Then to respond to at least three of their classmates work.

  • I would recommend my student to really try and get involved because I believe that they would really get into it. Even if they didn’t get into blogging it still would be a great experience and they would at least come out of it with new ideas and thoughts. I also would recommend my students to not be negative about others work. Art work is never bad; it’s just understood in a different way. A huge thing to tell your students is that you need to be carefully not to give out any of your major information. Like your address, full name, SSN, and other personal information. Tell them that this is not completely private.

  • Blogging would help my students see other people’s view and opinions. They would be able to express themselves in a way that makes them feel proud. Also blogging allows my students to get future ideas and thoughts on other projects them might want to explore. Their writing would become better because since they understand that other classmates will be viewing their writing, they would want to proof read it more. On web logs students would be able to check what the assignments are and the emails for teachers and classmates. There also would be no excuses in not being able to turn in or lose your homework!
